Stripes on Her Eyes When She Walks Slow

What a busy week. I'm not sure how I managed to get it all done. But, I did. Thank God. But, things never seem to slow down. The words never stop. Not that I want them to. The last thing on earth I want to do at this point is tempt the fates of writer's block. The one area of my writing life that has suffered is this blog. For that, I'm truly sorry.

I was blocked for a little while this week. But, I seem to have found the magic cure. The shower. Every time I go in there, I come out with a great idea. Or at the very least, an idea. Their greatness may be debatable. I still don't know why the inspiration comes with water, but I'm not asking too many questions. Mystery of life, I guess.

It was a good weekend. My boys made it thirteen in a row, and the rest of it just keeps rolling, moving right along. It's all I can do to stop and have a piece of Man Candy. But, hey, everyone deserves a break.

Someday Someone's Going To Ask You, A Question You Should Say Yes To

It's been too long since I've had a nice probing. Interview, that is. Luckily, Alison Tyler was more than happy to oblige me. This inquisition was conducted after one of AT's lovely contests. All I had to do was spout some Bullshit and voila!

Check out the Trollop Salon for all the info about little old me. Any further questions, I plead the fifth!

I've Got Depth Of Perception In My Text Y'all

It's the start of another week and I've got a ton of things to do. But, I wanted to start out on the right foot with some hot Man Candy.

I'll have a weekend recap later, but right now I'm a little busy. Stay tuned. And, enjoy the sights.

Denk' an Dich und lass' ihn fliegen

I'm sorry I've been M.I.A this week with my blog posts. But, I have a good excuse. Okay, so maybe not a good excuse, but an excuse none the less. I've been obsessed. I stumbled across some wonderful German daytime television on YouTube, and I've spent a large amount of time catching myself up to date on the love affair of Christian and Ollie. If you are not familiar, Christian and Ollie are characters on a soap opera called Verbotene Liebe, or Forbidden Love. It turns out, it is a remake of an Australian soap called Sons and Daughters. How fitting. I don't know much about the rest of the show, but they are by far the cutest couple I've ever come across on television.

The gay story line on US soaps is still something of a novelty, but not in Germany. These boys have been causing a sensation since 2007 and are still going strong. There's plenty of PDA and is really unspeakably hot.

You can follow along here, thanks to a very kind, very dedicated fan who translates the whole shebang so we English speakers can read along. But, be forewarned. Once you start, you won't be able to stop. Not that you'd want to. Just to get you started, I've included a video to give you a taste. Now that I'm caught up, I've got some work to finish. Viel Spaß!

Step Right Up And Get Your Tickets

I got onto a roller coaster on Friday. I sat in the last car, like I always do, waiting as we rode slowly to the top of the highest hill. I held my breath as the last click sounded, and then I started to fall. It felt like it would never bottom out. But, then the car threw me sideways, pushing me against the thin metal wall. Then, we climbed another hill, this one smaller, but the fall was a lot quicker. Up and down, completely upside down, around the sharp turns, and then finally back to the same place we started. The conductor flipped the switch and we could get out. My pulse was racing, my stomach a bit sick. But, it was over.

That about sums up my weekend. I was freed from the jury duty cloud that was hanging over my head. I got rejected. Sometimes I wonder why I do this to myself. But, then I remember that I love it. I need to do it. There is no choice. So, I get back up and do it all over again. Tomorrow, I get back on the roller coaster. Today, I lick my wounds and ogle my Man Candy.

Today Is A Birthday, They're Smoking Cigars

She probably doesn't know this, but Alison Tyler was my first. No, she was not my high school boyfriend who de-flowered me in a cheap motel. Alison Tyler was the first person to tell me they wanted to publish my stories. I had taken a chance, finally put my work out there and she sent the email that changed my life. Everything that has happened since then is because of her and that email. I still remember how it felt to read it. Hell, I still have it tucked away in folder. So, why am I mentioning this? Two reasons. One, she's awesome. And, two . . .

Because, it is Alison Tyler's birthday. Maybe not exactly today, but sometime within the month of June. What better way to honor the wonderful writer, editor and blogger who we have so much fun with, then with a blog-tastic birthday surprise? All over the blogosphere today, there are birthday wishes for one fabulous Trollop. If you try really hard, you just might find them all.

It has been wonderful working with her, getting to know her and doing what she tells me to do. I'm honored to grace the pages of her anthologies, and appear on her many, many blogs. She is kind, generous and makes me laugh constantly. Plus, she's dirty as all hell. I like that!

So, here's to you Alison. Happy Birthday!! Don't forget to collect those birthday spanks, with a few extra thrown in for good measure. I didn't have time to get you a gift, but please go right here, for the best song ever about a classic birthday tradition.

(I was trying to find a picture of cake. But, I think we can all agree this is better)

It Took A Starry Night To Steal My Breath Away

Sorry I'm so late to the party, it was a rough weekend. But, I'm back to reality and back with the Man Candy.

Also, Alison Tyler is a wonderful lady. She gave us all a story prompt a while back, and I decided to send her something. Today, that something is up on her newest blog, H is for Harlot. Check it out and tell me and her what you think. Stay tuned, because I will be interviewed by the fair Alison on yet another blog, The Trollop Salon, sometime in the near future.

Now, I must get back to work. After the night I had last night, it might prove to be a tall order.

Can You Imagine That, An Itch Too Sensitive To Scratch

After writing over 10,000 words in two days and a overzealous mopping of my kitchen floor, I have done my hands in. They hurt like hell. I even managed to bruise my thumb. They are begging me to stop typing right now, but I can't. My inspiration is so good right now, I don't want to stop. But, pretty soon, I may not have a choice.

I paused last evening for some medicinal pint drinking and cheap taco eating. It helped, a bit. So did the girl talk. I was reminded yet again why my girl Janis is awesome. She gets it, she gets me and I love her. There are more words I could use, but I'm trying to keep it brief. Even after my beers, my hands are sore and angry.

So, I will take my leave for now, but the story in my head keeps calling. I just hope it's worth it. Will someone type for me? I'm desperate!

Well I Never Lived The Dreams Of The Prom Kings, And The Drama Queens

This past Saturday, my high school (and the high school attended by nearly my entire family) had an open house/farewell celebration. It is closing it's doors after a million years in favor of a fancy new school on a fancy new plot of land. At first the notion of my school closing didn't bother me that much. But, the more I thought about it, I'm really going to miss that old, crappy building. Despite the trauma-inducing moments of my high school years, there were some good times thrown in there too.

As a marching band geek, I spent most of my free periods and study halls "practicing" in the band room. By practicing of course, I mean breaking into the stereo cabinet and playing music while we goofed off. Or, making out in practice rooms in the dark. Sometimes I wonder how we ever managed to memorize the songs for our performances.

The rest of the school may have looked down on us, but we thought we were cool. It was such a cloistered group that outside information didn't always make it through. We protected each other from the worst that high school had to offer. We were a team, of sorts, and at the end of the day, we always had each other. Of course, there was in-fighting and hierarchy, but as someone who always got to sit at the back of the band bus, most of that stuff didn't bother me.

So, as my old school gets mostly destroyed and it's football field re-purposed for a mini-mall, I just wanted to take this moment to say a bittersweet goodbye to my school. My sister was kind enough to send me a lovely photo reminder of the geek I used to be (see above). Let's just say that 1993 was a good year. Let's Go Big Red!!

At The Courthouse I Waited, And Waited Then I Waited

I feel like I'm on parole. I got my jury duty summons a while back, and I am "on call" for the month of June. Federal Jury service. Fun. But, I dodged a bullet. This week, I'm off scott free. I have another week of freedom before I have to call again. I'm so thankful to the jury pool Gods that I was spared. Keep your fingers crossed that I get through the month. I also may have some more good news to report soon. So, cross the fingers on your other hand for that, if you don't mind. I know it makes it hard to type, but I'd really appreciate it.

In honor of my stay of civic duty, I chose some extra-delicious Man Candy. What a great way to start my week.
